The CDCD Journey: Years of Impact

2026 — A New Dimension

St. Timothy's Secondary School, Onike, Yaba

In 2026, Children’s Day Charity Drive took its most ambitious leap yet — into the classroom. Visiting St. Timothy’s Secondary School in Onike, Yaba, we introduced a brand new dimension to our mission: educational empowerment.

For JSS1–JSS3 students, we organised a quiz competition spanning Mathematics, English, and General Knowledge. For SS1–SS3 students, a debate competition put their critical thinking and communication skills to the test. The energy in that school was electric — children who had never been given a platform to shine were suddenly centre stage, and they delivered.

But we didn’t just celebrate their efforts with applause. The top three students from each category — six students in total — received direct sponsorship covering 40–50% of their school fees, along with a lunch bag, food flask, and water bottle. Because brilliance deserves more than a pat on the back.

Every child went home with a school bag and a carefully prepared food pack — 270 packs in total — alongside party packs filled with biscuits, sweets, drinks, and snacks. Cotton candy and mascots made sure the day felt as festive as it was meaningful.

Impact: Approximately 300 children reached, 6 students directly sponsored, and a brand new chapter written in CDCD’s story — one where academic achievement in underserved communities is seen, rewarded, and celebrated.

These images tell the story of our growth, but more importantly, they capture the unchanging truth at our core: every child deserves love, support, and the chance to dream big. With CDCD 5.0, we’re not just dreaming bigger — we’re building bigger, one child at a time.

2025 - Inspiring Future Leaders

Girls' Correctional Facility & Bariga Community Children’s Day Celebration

This year marked our most profound intervention yet. At the Idi Araba girls’ correctional facility, we went beyond just material support to offer hope and representation. Our team of young women, including engineering graduates and political science students, shared their stories and dreams with girls who were trying to actualize their own potential.

Through meaningful conversations about university life, career possibilities, and overcoming obstacles, we planted seeds of ambition in hearts that had been written off by society. The girls left our session inspired, seeing themselves reflected in successful young women who
believed in their futures.

Our Bariga celebration brought back beloved traditions while adding new elements like dancing competitions and spelling bees, proving that learning and fun are the perfect combination. Our impact? Over 350 kids!

These images tell the story of our growth, but more importantly, they capture the unchanging truth at our core: every child deserves love, support, and the chance to dream big.

2024 - Strengthening Healthcare Access

Massey Hospital Visit & Oyingbo Children’s Day Celebration

By 2024, our approach had matured into strategic partnerships. Working directly with Massey Hospital, we addressed critical gaps in pediatric care by providing essential medical supplies, including first aid boxes, weighing scales, diapers, antiseptics, trays, and buckets. These were carefully selected items that medical professionals identified as urgent needs.

Our yearly party evolved, as well. This time, we took to the Oyingbo community, featuring vibrant mascots, professional DJs, and the same spirit of abundance that defines our mission. While we couldn’t include everything from the previous year, the children’s joy (300+) remained our greatest measure of success.

2023 - Expanding Our Reach

Tower of Refuge Orphanage & Mushin Children’s Day Celebration

In 2023, we learned the power of listening. By calling ahead to the Tower of Refuge Orphanage, we discovered their specific needs and delivered exactly what would make the biggest difference: foodstuffs, provisions, medication, cooking pots, and utensils that would
serve them long after our visit.

But we didn’t stop there. We organized our first large-scale community celebration in Mushin. With bouncing castles, energetic DJs, engaging games, and activities, we created an atmosphere where dreams felt possible. The impact? Over 250 kids.

2022: Where It All Began

Idi-Araba Educational Center Outreach

Our journey started with a simple but powerful vision: every child deserves to feel special on their day. In 2022, we took our first steps by visiting an educational center in Idi-Araba, where we reached over 250 children with a message of hope and care.

Beyond the joy of shared meals, festive party packs, and celebratory cake, we introduced a vital health education component, teaching children about personal hygiene and self-care.
